I'm willing to do proximate analysis such as Moisture, Ash, Volatile matter, Organic matter, crude protein. Should I use the cowdung as fresh as I brought from field or should I dry the samples at any particular temperature in oven or in open air?. If so, Is there any specific time like 12 hours or 24 hours?. As analysis needs dry cow dung sample (not fresh as slurry), the temperature for drying the sample before analysis should not affect the moisture, ash and other values right?. If there is any particular or conventional methods. Please do share.
