I am collating evaluation methodologies. So, broader methodologies for inclusion in my report are also welcome. Please also indicate the preferred citation for the evaluation methodology.
Your request for a convenient research methodology cannot be answered without more information about the context of your research. The choice of a quantitative approach , qualitative approach or a mixed-methods apprach is only the function of what you want to achieve from your research. The gender inequality construct is responsive to multiple theoretical and practical traditions in research. One option to research gender inequality is to opt for quantitative approach that is further developed into a survey design ( Creswell, 2003 ). You need to be careful about the imperatives of a survey design in terms of sampling, data collection and data analysis. You may opt for probability sampling ( your best option if possible) because the representativeness of your population sample is consequential at all levels in survey designs. The instrument for data collection coud be a structured questionaire. As for the data analysis part, you may consider all statistical tools with the capacity to equate correlation, regression and variance.
This one option among many. The important thing is to conduct research from the perspective of an establish tradition in terms of methodology and design.
Evaluation methodology is not a research methodology per se. It is about assessment and evaluation of specific gender equality programmes. It has nothing to do with field work!
Evaluation methodology belongs dependently of research methodology, and the two must reciprocate with an inclusive research design and feed from its epistemological stands. Evidence of this is that one cannot expect a quantitative design to endorse monpositivist paradigms and surely not an interpretive evaluation methodology. Research methodology is not synonymous with research methodology but both must harmonise with a distinct research design.
OK, as I explained in my original question, the context is fixed. It seems that you want to have a debate on the topic. I am not looking for that. I am looking for referenced to specific methodologies for the HE sector. What you are getting into is not what I am looking for. Anyhow if you want to learn specifically what an evaluation methodology for GEPs are, see the OECD report on this: https://www.oecd.org/derec/canada/35135244.pdf
Do you have any qualitative or quantitative methodologies for evaluating gender equality plans in HE? seems to be a theoretical question that can be answered by referring directly to the litterature.
you might want to check out the results of the H2020 project Efforti - which developed an evaluation framework for gender equality in Higher Education and Research Performing Organisations in general: https://efforti.eu/ This is a great place to get started, especially the introduction to the framework: https://efforti.eu/efforti-toolbox-intro
If you are looking specifically for a questionnaire that facilitates the monitoring of gender equality at your organization, you might be interested in the Gender Equality Audit and Monitoring Tool (GEAM) developed by the H2020 ACT project: https://geam.act-on-gender.eu
