cyclohexanone was used as an extraction solvent and methanol as a precipitant agent. it is needed to separate these two solvents. do you think the solvent evaporation method would work or another method must be applied?
You can check below (*) data for the heterogeneous azeotrope formed by cyclohexanone and water (95.0 ºC; 92.0 wt% cyclohexanone for the upper layer). Methanol does not form azeotrope with water. This suggests that steam stripping (steam injection distillation) can be used to efficiently remove methanol (< 95.0 ºC), while cyclohexanone could, in principle, be recovered with 8 wt% water (but essentially methanol-free) as the upper layer of the decanted bottoms.
