Writing a research paper is an obligation to rise academically for me. Now, I am trying to publish my papers in SCI indexed journals and it is hard. But after being let's say full professor, writing a paper can become more enjoyable and I can write more valuable papers.
At the beginning of the research work, we will be happy but with time it becomes routine.

I always enjoy writing a research paper especially when the results of my research have the capacity to affect the health status of the community being studied. By the way, my areas of specialisation are medical anthropology and medical sociology.

While, I know many faculty who consider scholarship a burden, I personally find intellectual inquiry tremendously satisfying.
It like a creating something new which has pleasure, hard work, night shifts, sorrow of rejection, tears of acceptance, excitement of sharing the news with friends and so on . It's a full package I guess
Certainly. By writing an article, interpreting mathematical results, graphs, and simulations, we have reached a better understanding of the problem. This creates a lot of satisfaction. Especially when I am working with theoretical problems in physics and mathematics, because in these situations we do not have much intuition about expected results.
If I am do not enjoy scientific research, why would I become a scientist?
Producing a research article is a way of life for me. Science is amazing.
It depends on my topic, if it is okay then i am happy otherwise just as mechanical.

But yes !!! when I can't explain my thoughts through verbal modes then my writing can do it. That is why sometimes it is very helpful to express our unconventional expressions.
Scientific research makes you feel that you are still alive on the face of the earth and that you are beneficial to humanity, even to a small extent. And all religion invites us to think about how God created the universe. So we feel happy with scientific research.
