1. Design Visible Light Communication (VLC) system using OOK-RZ/NRZ modulation for the Photonic Laboratory, Faculty of Electrical Engineering. Suppose the dimension of the lab is (6 × 4 × 3) 𝑚 for the length, width, and height respectively. The designer should carefully determine the suitable number of LED lamps to avoid interference, as well as provide acceptable communication and illumination performance.
Using MATLAB (Coding or Simulink) as a simulation platform, evaluate the VLC system in terms of illumination level, received power, SNR, and BER. The cost estimation of implementing this project is also required. (Hint: The components that are available in your storeroom are stated in Table 1).
