Some years ago a group of scientists introduced the thermodynamic quantity "entransy" claiming that such a quantity is missing especially in analysing heat transfer problems.
There are doubts, however, with respect to a real need for that quantity, for example expressed in:

Do you have experience with respect to entransy in the sense of "we need it" ?
I think we should put the question differently:
- how was it possible to publish in well-respected journals with (apparently) highly qualified reviewers over 20 papers on the topic like this?
Thermodynamics is a well established branch of science and the appearance of any completely new quantity must have raised a lot of questions. Apparently this did not happen...
It seems to me that the problem is that there are no clear rules for the validation/ falsification of the conjectures related to the thermodynamic sytems. What do you think?
I think it is a relly novel theory and it is normal that it is debated. However, I think it is based on the idea of heat death of universe. Entropy generation proves that universe has end. Exergy destruction is a mesurement of lost work potential, but no theory exist about lost heat transfer potential. Entropy concept says that tuniverse will reach thermal equiblirium, that's why, work potential will destroy. This means that heat transfer potential destroys. Entransy theory might be a beginning point for obtaining a theory for lost heat potential. Perhaps it needs to be improved. All theories were contereversial at the begining like exergy. I hope a really useful theory can be derived about lost heat potential.
