Both HCQ and Azithromycin are known cardiotoxic drugs. Provided that COVID-19 infection also leads to myocardial injury and may present with variety of cardiovascular conditions. Will this combination be a safer option any more? Initially, we didn't have any options except to rely on above drugs, but now as few specific drugs are available , and many clinical trials and observational studies are not supporting the use of HCQ and azithromycin, in view of efficacy as well as safety. There is need to test relatively safer option like tetracyclines (minocycline in particular and also doxycycline) because of their attractive properties. Kindly give your opinion.
