Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (in particular surface-mounted magnet type) can have two basic types of position encoder alignment or in other words back EMF can be sin or cosine functions of rotor position (based on the alignment type adopted by the manufacturer). Does the type of alignment has any impact on the machine model in different frames of coordinate (e.g. alpha-beta or d-q frames)
Also, different assumptions can be made about the relative positions of the the three phase winding axes with respect to alpha-beta axes and d-q axis. Do these assumptions affect the final model ?
Is there a reference which covers some of these possible assumptions?
