I could not find any in vitro data concerning possible sex difference of the metabolism of dehydroepiandrosterone (sulfate) to testosterone or estrogen. Young et al. (1997) studied metabolism of DHEA in 6 women and 4 men with panhypopituitarism, but did not specify any differences. I don't expect significant difference, but would like to be sure.
