Is it possible to apply the Do no Harm methodology to development projects and not only to humanitarian action? I think it is possible and it should be taken into account in conflict contexts.
In development projects, the ''do no harm'' principle is aimed to respect host community's culture, traditions, norms, beliefs and values while implementing a project. The practice of this principle is normal in a stable situation, but in a humanitarian crisis condition, emphasis should be on saving life first, controlling the situation to be normal and then applying the ''do no harm'' doctrine as well as in conflict resolution initiatives.
