Im not an specialist, put the answer would be yes. MRI machines, as many image medical devices come in a full package (closed and proprietary most of the time) to allow the user to view the results and operate with them. Inside these packages will be most likely all kind of algorithms from noise reduction, alignment, fusion... And can be hardware or software based. Think that even the most basic digital camera has all kind of algorithms built-in. If you need anything speciphically however. You need to ask a provider, and they should be able to give you all kind of details without cost.
I have worked with Adwantage workstation of GE 1.5T, they dont have the option of fusing CT with MRI. since, the resolution wise and application of MRI is far superior as compared to CT.
I do know the software for PET/MR fusion its called Cortex ID (GE workstation), NeuroGam, Cortquant.
Commercial software for fusion is available as an option, that is a euphemism for extra money! But you can get free software on the net to do the job on a PC or MAC.
This exactly is why some OEM companies have a reason to exist, or to position themselves. Hermes where i work came with the first programs to the market > 20 years ago (as a primer at that time with FDA approval), and was able to expand it suites to 3 or 4 modality live image fusion. Anyway, indeed free packages without DA also exist.Open for personal discussion, i do not want this site to be a marketing site,
