Hi, I have a doubt. I am working with microsatellites developed for a Polyploid plant species (Schoenoplectus americanus) which I have transferred to the species of the same genus (Schoenoplectus californicus), my question is: If when sequencing they exhibit diploid behavior or if there can be from the same individual more than two alleles at a locus? I am currently examining the electropherograms and have noticed that some samples show multiple peaks, which raises questions for me as to whether this is due to the polyploidy of the species or PCR artifacts known as "stuttering." I very much appreciate your attention to this matter.
