It actually deepends more on what your objectives and circumstances are, rather than the method itself. If what you whant is to make an inventary of flora, you will have to make new collections on field; also, if the area you're working on isn't accesible, you will have to look for similar and easier-to-work areas, or for other safer access points.
Agreed. In fact, depending on the group you are looking at and the systems you study, it may not be possible to reach it. The issue would be not to interpret your results with more confidence than allowed by your data, as indicated by the accumulation curve. It's often more important to compare accumulation curves across systems - even if none of them reach an asymptote, the differences in accumulation rates could be relevant.
