Hi everyone,
I was wondering if I am publishing a review and I used an illustration from previous studies that I properly cited them at my review. Do I still need to get the original author permission to republish them or they are covered under Creative Common rights CC?

It would depend upon the agreement given in the copyright transfer declaration form.

You need to check teh copyright terms cited in the article from which you have picked up illustration in your review. If it mandates to take prior permission then you should and not just cite them in your review.
