could any one have the information related to temperature compensation of circadian rhythms in insects or the clock of insects must depend on the weather changes for the developmental cycle. for example, the duration of development of larvae prolonged when inactive period (winter) of maize stem borer arises even it is given optimum conditions in the laboratory. i feel it is because of the circadian clock of the insect itself not because of temperature fluctuations in off season.
