In BSL3 Lab, Can we extract DNA and RNA using single kingfisher duo prime ? If BSL3 lab sample sources are from BSL3 grade virus and Bacteria (mdrTB), physcally separated BSL3 cultures but in common DNA RNA extraction lab....
In BSL2 Lab where non infectious work is done, can we do DNA and RNA extractions in same centrifuge machines?
If centrifuges are not available in BSL2 lab can we do non infectious sample DNA RNA extraction in BSL3 lab ?
Need expert advice.....with reference to biosafety norms.
As long as the machine is in the BSL-3, I don't see why not.
But if you want to bring the sample out, for TB, basically we just drop the sample into Trizol/RNAzol (any phenol-type reagent).
I don't see why you can't go backwards, meaning bring BSL-2 samples into BSL-3 (we use to do that with Ra for both in vitro and in vivo experiments when used for comparing against virulent Erdman or Rv MTB).
