Energy Transition

1.    While geopolitical factors and macroeconomic variables may not be having significant impacts, at the moment, how about the sensitivity on the emergence of new renewable energy technologies and evolving government policies and regulations – that shapes the Indian Energy Landscape?

Whether the evolving Indian Energy Landscape has significantly altered the trade and investments in crude-oil and natural gas industry?

Growing Indian Energy Demand is successfully compensated by Growth in Renewables?

2.    What is to be understood?

(a) Global EV sales grew by over 35% in 2023; (Norway 88%; World 14%; United States 8%; and India 2% in 2022)

(b) Global Oil Demand @ 103 million barrels per day (crossing 100 mbpd for the first time in history);

(c) Global Oil Inventories is expected to increase by an average 0.4 million barrels per day in 2025;

(c) Incessant increase in Hydrocarbon Investment in Global upstream industry (marching towards US$600 billion; and on the way to generate around US$1000 Billion in free cash flows; and the global upstream industry is expected to generate around US$5 trillion in free cash flows from its hydrocarbon business between 2024 and 2030)

(d) Rising Global Energy Investments with limited supply of critical minerals (Energy Intensive Mining activities for critical minerals could pose environmental impacts beyond emissions?

Won’t it lead to water depletion?

Won’t it end up with land-use change and contamination including biodiversity loss and eventually disrupting the well-being of local communities?

‘Sustainable access to the minerals’ is no more an issue?

Wont’ it create supply-chain risks?)

If so, then, investors, regulators and stakeholders in both hydrocarbon sectors and renewable energy sectors have clarity on low carbon energies that would end up with amplified returns for shareholders? 3.    DLE Technology:

How about it's fresh water consumption?

Feasible @ Arid locations?

Energy consumption should include water-extraction as well?

Completion of chemical process until the generation of pure solid product?

Evaporation ponds would be required if we end up with LiCl or LiOH solutions rather than a solid Lithium product?

DLE would be able to produce solutions with Li+ concentrations greater than 25 g/l?

How about Environmental Monitoring considering its complex link between water-flows, soil composition and ecosystem biodiversity?

Lithium is not a minor component in an oil-field brine?
