I am working on a hyperelastic simulation in ANSYS workbench. I asked a similar question few weeks ago, the problem with distortion of elements was solved by changing the elements to triangular elements, with keeping element midside nodes -dropped.
Now I have started with another simulation and the problem is happening again. Refer pictures attached for details. The problem is confined to 2D. The inner geometry is an elastomer (defined by Yeoh's model). The outer boundary is in Aluminium and fixed. The elastomeric material is given an internal pressure of 5 bars, upon expansion, it will make contact with the Aluminium surface and i need to look at the contact pressure.
I am getting error message as shown, I refined the mesh, see mesh quality attached. Also I increased pressure very slow. The sub-steps are large enough. Can anyone troubleshoot the problem?
I would like to suggest some ideas to improve your model:
1.Uses quadrilateral elements of 8 nodes without reduced integration
2.Activate the solver for large displacements
3. Use the symmetry of your model, to reduce your model in half
4. Initially you can test how your model works assuming that aluminum is a rigid body
5.Use frictionless contact between rubber and aluminum

The element type you can choose in the mesh options: >>method>>multizone>>Mapped mesh method>>quadrilateral & the option: element midsides nodes>>Kept. To Activate the solver for large displacements see attached picture. I hope it is useful. Regards.
