Hi,
My name is Olugbenro Favour, and I am a student of Business Studies with an International Focus at Dalarna University, Sweden. I am presently undertaking a Master's thesis, and I have a keen interest in International Business that was why I chose to look at the ''Challenges of Multinational Companies (MNCs) Internationalization into Emerging African Economies''.
For decades now, researchers on internationalization have focused mainly on the top emerging countries BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) leaving out the African continent. Africa has emerged in recent years as a newly relevant economic area. The continent is increasingly becoming an exciting place to invest in and an appealing destination for international business, particularly for companies aiming to internationalize into vibrant developing markets and this makes the continent a valuable emerging market target for the international expansion of Western countries. However, there is an absence of a contemporary study that has surveyed challenges to doing business in Africa. To bridge this gap, I seek to contribute to the under-researched body of this knowledge.
To have an in-depth understanding of the challenges that Multinational Companies encounter, I will like to get access to interviews from Multinational companies in developed countries but due to the on-going pandemic, I have not been able to get access to interviews. I will really appreciate it if anyone has contact with Multinational companies that will be willing to participate in this research.
I am hoping to conduct this interview before the end of May as part of my Master's thesis to have an in-depth understanding of my research topic. This interview will last for about 30minutes to 45minutes. Kindly let me know if you have any queries.
