I have 2 materials A and B. A has Particle size 15 nm and B has 34 nm. But the hydrodynamic radii of A comes to be 2400 nm and of B is 1700 nm.
How this has happened kindly anyone give the scientific explanation of it.
A is binary and B is ternary composite
Not enough info to give a full answer. Assuming a multi-particle system, agglomeration is the most likely cause of this massive difference. Agglomerates can be dynamic as well as static.
If it is single particles: the measuring devices need checking!
The hydrodynamic radius is a measure for the influence of the particle on some flow properties of the suspension. Plate-shaped particles or long polymers or spherical particles have a different "hydrodynamic" radius (size of a spherical partlicle with the same hydrodynamic properties) for the same "dry-volume" (volume dived by the density). However, as pointed by Broughton, your question should be more specific: how do you define "size" and hydrodynamic radius? Which flow property are you considering?
