In the present paper, we did not work on human glioma. The present work was done on experimentally induced glioma in rats. For the purpose of experimental induction of glioma, we used the chemical carcinogen, Ethyl nitroso urea (ENU) for i.p. injection in 3-5 day old neonatal rats. Our previous work has established that such neonatal injection of ENU causes the development of glioma (usually Grade 3 & Grade 4 Glioblastoma multiforme) in the injected animals when they reach the age of 5-6 months.
The therapeutic compound T11TS has been found to cause complete abrogation of glioma in the experimental animal model and such findings have been established in our previous papers. Work on in vitro human glioma samples (published in Cellular Immunology, 2012 & 2013) have also provided encouraging results wherein glioma abrogation was noted after T11TS administration.
Dear Surhnita - Are they ( work mentioned here in 2012 and 2013) from your lab.? Did you do it in human glioma cell culture or in human patients, please mention. If it was in human patients, then you could go for a patent. Please tlk to Swapna Chaudhuri in this regard.a
