Did someone measure Heme from cell lysate?

HI:

I am trying to measure the Heme synthesis from compound treated cells. I found a kit from Bioassay System (cat# DIHB250). However, it didn't say if cell lysate can also be used or not by this kit.

Anyone has some light to shed on this case?
