Between 1920 and 26 Erwin Schrödinger made some remarkable contributions to the field of colour-metric. Surprising enough that he was not absorbed completely by quantum mechanics at that time one may wonder if this (colour-)work has influenced style and method of his treatment of wave mechanics. At least in terms of vector-spaces and representations there appear some similarities... Does anybody has looked into that..?
Sorry Mr. Kanda and El Naschie, your answers seem completely inappropriate since they do not relate at all to the original question! I am sure that there are threads for general complaints about the course of physics in general and QM in particular...

having unusual research interests myself, I am certainly not defending main-stream positions per se. However, given that my question is concerned with rather historical issues about methodological connections between different resaerch lines of Schrödinger in the 20s I see no point in a general discussion of the (possibly intersting) question if this work is (in addition) valid. From my question you may conclude that I am fine with wave mechanics (as defined by any text book you may pull out of your shelf). Since otherwise the answer to this question would not be intersting to me. You should feel free to open a new question on RG which opens the floor for the discussion you seem to be interested in,
