Climate equations are better for large extent area(hydrological estimation) while using soil water content sensors is the better in small field area(Agricultural estimation).

I agree with Bayan. However, the choice of measurement technique in any experiment depends critically on the experimental objectives, and also on any pre-existing hypotheses concerning the mechanisms of any response or adaptation to the water deficit.
