I am looking forward to make a sub sized specimen for tensile testing with 6 mm diameter, but what should be the appropriate Diameter and length of end sections.
Dear all, I could not get what is meant by the question. Are you asking for information that are not available in ASTM Standard ? I attached the ASTM document for more clarification. Note that this standard is for metallic specimen. My Regards

I do not have in my possession the standard that you indicate but the data you ask for are generally indicated as a note, in the table indicated. If this were not the case, the relationship between the sample diameter and other values (eg length and diameter of final parts, etc.) are certainly specified in the standard.
