Currently, I'm working on utilization of petroleum coke as starting material for activated carbon production. Referring to elemental analysis, petcoke contains high S content compared to conventional starting materials i.e. Biomass.
Appreciate if anyone can share on how desulfurization of petroleum coke can be carried out prior to its usage?

I'm already working on the petcoke utilization for activated carbon (already have a grant). My concern basically is on how to remove S prior to utilization.

Pyrolysis of petcoke at temp between 500-700 degree over a time range of 1 hour can remove S from the petcoke.
