Hhhmm... I would not agree there. If you are going to use the water for molecular biology, you should buy nuclease free water (from Ambion or so) which is Gamma-radiated instead of DEPC treated. Trace amounts of DEPC will otherwise inhibit reactions -especially cDNA synthesis. here are some options, and you can read more technical data on the Ambion web site as well:
