The polymer insulating material for power transmission cables do have defects.The defects during the manufacturing process are the ones I'm interested in.Any help will be appreciated. Again literature sources will be of great value
1) the crosslink defect, which is typical one from the process, because of the X link material, which usualy is amber color, gel type;
2) the impurity, metalic partical, which is the stuff from the uncleaned screen mesh etc, which is metal or contaiminant solid type;
3) the void, which is from the process byproduct
Ying Wang thanks.Very helpful
