I am aware of many methods for estimating base-flow recession constants from discharge (due to spring outlets) hydrographs. Unfortunately, in my study case there is no discharge contributing to surface runoff, and hence I only have the groundwater level time-series and I believe that it is theoretically possible to derive discharge from a water-level vs time graph. I just don't know yet how. I will appreciate if you could help me learn more about it.
If there is an interaction between groundwater and surface water in your study area, you can apply many prediction model to estimate the base flow rate.
Dear Hamed, the only gw-sw interaction I have in my study area is some recharge below major dams and lakes. there is no runoff, nor springs within a considerably wide area (c.a. 75 km²). The streams remain dry for most of the year, presenting some flow after heavy and enduring storms.
Go for simulation numerical model of two dimension. If you know the recharge area then you can simulate groundwater discharge with model calibrated against groundwater level changes.
