Whether the First Published/ Accepted Version (made available on online) of a peer-reviewed research article can claim priority over similar or overlapping paper published later, but well before the publication of the original peer-reviewed paper?
Aaru - it depends what you mean by 'priority?' Copyright allows you, with many publishing companies, to allow you to post early/pre-copy-edit copies of articles - but not the final article copy. You have to check the journal copyright specifications. Even then - how many publishing houses chase up those that online upload?
Dear Sir, Thanks for your kind information and clarifications. Here we would like to know the priority of date of publication, since most of the peer-reviewed articles takes a long time while the non-peer reviewed paper gets published online very quickly. The overlapping papers often poses problems to researchers with regard to protecting their data or claim the priority of scientific names where it matters most.
