How shipping and logistics industry can be improved using Data science and Statistical analysis methods?
I really bet on the improvement of systems of visibility in terms of network chains and architectures of cooperation. For me, there are two main variables to add to data science developments: trust (in terms of security and the number and types of actors joined) and the capacity of analysis of the information with qualitative purposes. It seems to me that the main gains are correlational to the way systems are developed, but also, the way information can add to the final goal which may be: enhance the efficiency, guaranttee security and support, etc.
Data science has real world application across numerous supply chain research themes; ocean port robotics (reinforcement learning), transportation planning (regression analysis) and customer segmentation (demand planning). I wished my company had today's software when I worked in the shipping industry. I would have less gray hair :) . Mahesh Divakaran Good luck with your studies.
