As an anti- diabetic agent dapagliflozin lowers blood sugar by passing glucose in urine. So, it can easily cause recurrent urinary tract infection due to that glucose is a good media for bacterial growth. There are lot of other anti-diabetic oral drugs those can be used instead for this drug. I have noticed several cases of diabetic patients who started dapagliflozin and developed recurrent UTI. So this type of drug that induces glycosuria should be avoided.
