Well, The cross-streaking is an easy and relatively rapid method for screening for antimicrobial activity. the major disadvantage of the ‘cross streak method’ is

difficulty in obtaining quantitative data.

Nirvana Jaganath .-. The Cross Streak method will NOT work for what you are asking. If you need to test the effects of some compounds on the growth of Salmonella you would do best to use the disc diffusion or well diffusion methods. If you want to see if another bacteria (or fungus) makes antimicrobial compounds that can affect the growth of your Salmonella, then the cross streak method would be appropriate.
