Can i use cas9 plasmid / vector used in Saccharomyces to generate knockout in Candida albicans?

Dear Ranjith,

I don't believe the Sc system(s) will work in Sc. Most use human codon optimized Cas9, and have >15 CUG codons, which are translated differently in C. albicans. Also there are issues with the marker and guide expression. Last year I published our CRISPR system for Ca. Send me an email (valmik @ alum mit edu) - I'll send you our cloning guide, etc., and figure out how to arrange shipping for the plasmids.
