Covid 19 has given way to abrupt shift to traditional f2f teaching leaving many teachers and students in embarrassment and fatigue.
How can teachers and students make the best of the present situation anticipating a prolonged Covid 19 impact in the field of teaching and learning?

Well I could say there is no choice left and during social distancing in COVID-19 time this is the smartest solution as online classes. But not Professional as regular classes in fact Fake classes.
One has to adopt to new reality.
Prepare an engaging and interesting content which can challenge the learners.
At the same time also be aware of the emotional connect and rapport that needs to be taken into account !
I find that the present co-vid 19 lockdown period has been very interesting and challenging.
The game-changer that i have noticed is self-discipline. With data being quite cheap and google so readily available, there is usually no shortage of material out there for students to learn. However, the one thing that is lacking, is educators putting pressure on students (because really, what can they do).
Both students and teachers that are self-motivated have tackled obstacles as opportunities and grown immensely and copped well.
Others have seen it as an excuse to do as little as possible and have fallen far behind.
One has to factor in the emotional roller coaster and real adversities many students and teachers are facing. Yet still, the will to get through tough times has motivated some to incredible growth.
I am also including this question in my current research.. I am including it as a side "chapter" as it definitly influenced my research. I think it gives us new opportunities to learn, it immensively shows the unequity (digital divide) in access to technology and as mentioned before children got to learn new skills, like self-discipline, self-organisation, organisation of learning times and goals. Some struggle a lot with that, some don't - as always we got to learn here for and from each other.
Yes, the present covid 19 scenario has necessitated greater incorporation of technology into teaching/learning. Teachers need to develop a framework that will replicate the presence of the teacher and the student community. Students should be supported and motivated well enough to engage them in the learning activity. There should also be sufficient platforms for them to engage in debates and discussions as part of co-constructing knowledge.
One of the advantages of online classes is the strengthening of learner autonomy. Students will be forced to minimize teacher dependence in the absence of face-to-face classroom instruction. At the same time, the low proficiency learners and students who suffer from economic backwardness are at a disadvantage.
On line classes will not be applicable for field work related subjects.
Attaching few papers on Env Sc, where On-line will face challenges
For next academic year, more likely there will be a mix of online-only and hybrid teaching methods.
The hybrid approach includes both online and face-to face to different ratios for the delivery of contents.
However, if things get really bad because of Covid-19 health crisis, then faculty and students can switch completely to the online-only method of delivery.
