I have a question/concern about any mRNA vaccine directed to destroy SARS-COV2. My initial examination suggested that a Corona virus related mRNA may be involved in upregulation of NOS. If this is interfered with could this affect other NOS mediated systems, including cardiovascular and erectile. This could be a major side-effect if not considered carefully.
Just in general as well, I am concerned about anything that could possibly interfere with the mRNA system. Please be sure it doesn't interfere with other RNA functions. Thank you, Gary Ordog, MD

In my reply above I gave the references I reviewed for this "theory." Read all of them regarding NOS, including the involvement of mRNA. Obviously you have followed the news in which the government has awarded Moderna a huge contract to produce the mRNA vaccine for SARS-COV-2 and the cause of COVID-19.
There are many references that provide a basis for this concern. A search using the terms "nitric oxide, mRNA, in SARS COV2 coronavirus" brings up many many studies relevant to my concern. COVID-19 has many cardiovascular effects that may be mediated via a decrease vascular NO. Thus, treatment with a Vaccine for SARS-COV2 may eliminate these and be beneficial in reducing COVID-19 effects.
Yes, obviously, that is a desired response to the mRNA vaccine. I find that NO and NOS are involved in a myriad of signaling and mediation with so many processes throughout the body; with mRNA up and down regulation altering so many reactions, including viral activation, deactivation and pathogenesis, that appear to be intimately intertangled. I am concerned with this intimacy and interactions between mRNA, that any cross-reactive antigenicity should not deleterious affect the mediation of NOS mRNA. So, a little more intensive testing to be sure. Thank you.
There are three major classes of NO-synthases, neuronal nNOS (brain, cardiac and striated muscle signalling mainly), endotelial eNOS (smooth muscle signalling) and inducible iNOS (immune reactions signalling). They are incoded by different genes and are regulated independently, so it would be useful to test what classes or even what subtypes of NOS are affected by the vaccine.
Yes, and to be sure that the mRNA vaccine is not stimulating something that interfere with those steps you just mentioned.
