The commencement of this pandemic made us nervous about an uncertain future. Is that trauma continuing and we are going to produce a nervous generation.
Scientists and researchers from around the world are requested to share their opinion.
Yes, the whole and total politization of the virus produces paranoia. It kills the economy, not the virus and comes with a high psychological cost, concerning the cohesion of human societies. We can only communicate with biological complexity (e.g. by altering our life-style), but never control it. The global synchronization of (many inefficient) 'medical' measures adds to the mass paranoia, and one asks rightly: Who is 'creating' all this irrationality??? Is it really possible to catch a mosquito with a fishing net?

Thank you for your contribution in this discussion. It was great to see the way you summed up everything in one sentence - "Is it really possible to catch a mosquito with a fishing net?"
There are several studies in the literature that have reported that Covid-19 attacks the nervous system of individuals, causing anxiety and depression. So it’s true that Covid-19 is responsible for the uncertainty that is making generations nervous. Thank you.
Thank you for your contribution. I am sorry for my late response to your contribution because I was going through the article that you sent me. It was wonderful and information providing.
It is quite probable, unfortunately, that it does ... and, this, due to the interaction of several causes: 1- Covid-19 generates -as neurotrophic it is- neurological disorders, many of them associated with pathological anxiety; 2- Many patients who have suffered from Covid, have suffered it in their relatives or, even, have suffered the death of loved ones, not infrequently without being able to say goodbye to them, they are generating - or will - Posttraumatic Stress Disorder; 3- Health Personnel, Armed Forces, Police, Teachers, etc., who have struggled, are struggling or will have to deal with the pandemic, are also suffering and will suffer Over Stress, Anxiety and, in the same way, Burnout and Disorder Due to Post-Traumatic Stress, 4- In the general population, especially with hypochondriacal premorbid features and emotional lability, Generalized Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive-compulsive Disorders -p.ej. with the abusive use of hand washing with hydroalcohol- and phobias of all kinds, especially agarphobias and all this is modeling their young children, etc. 5- The economic crisis, job instability, unemployment, etc., the perceived psychosocial anomie and measures such as confinements also have a serious and serious cost in Mental Health ... all of this (and more things that are left in the inkwell) make this pandemic also Psychopathological
The pandemic definitely affected the psyche of society. Accurate statistics are not yet available, but the number of people suffering from neurosis and depression has increased. The number of suicides has also increased. I think the media is to blame, because they report dramatic stories and increase the fear of society.
It's perfectly normal to worry and for your mood to be low in these circumstances. However, i'm not convinced that that will translate into massive increases in clinical anxiety and depression. The evidence to date, that has been based on good measures and appropriate sampling methods, seems to show that the population as a whole is quite resilient - this doesn't mean that the pandemic does not have an effect on mental health, rather that people in the general population can handle the effects without serious mental health problems arising.
I ever not seen such pandemic in my life, but I am not thinking so, we are going to produce a nervous generation, owing to the fact that human are highly adaptive entity in this cosmos.
From my perspective, when it was used the term social distancing, i disagreed with the term, and i said we should use physical distancing, the words convey meanings, and as a result it can affects our mind. i think we should be careful about the words we are using. indeed. without noticing to the human as a whole, we can anticipate more angry generations to come.
Thank you for your contribution. Its a great point that you have raised by saying that "social distancing" should be replaced by "physical distancing".
Due to the SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) coronavirus pandemic, many people in home quarantine, working remotely, communicating via the Internet, etc. have limited social contacts. Children continue their education remotely via the Internet in the e-learning formula. The pandemic has caused a health, social and economic crisis. Many people fear losing their jobs. Many stressful situations arise. The pandemic caused additional stress, depression, anxiety, and other negative mental states. Mental health is essential.
Thank you for your contribution in this discussion.
I went through your writing. You are absolutely right that this pandemic has caused a health, social and economic crisis. Although it does not have much relevance with the topic here, yet I am sharing this with you that this morning I was going through the newspapers. I saw an advertisement of a pre-school for toddlers where they wrote about online classes for toddlers. I was very surprised to see that toddlers will probably have to go through online classes. How that is possible was an immediate thought that came to my mind and then I told myself that right now that is the only thing possible. There is no doubt that this pandemic has caused havoc with the human civilization. As a result of that, we are probably creating a nervous generation. It is time that we start taking care of our mental health.
