Looking at the wide spread of COVID-19 across all continents except the Antarctica region. It is important to look at the impact of this virus on every sector of the economy, it is obvious that the post COVID-19 crisis will be severe for most countries.
I would like experts to comment on how COVID-19 would possibly affect the construction industry.

We are still to see real impact here in Tanzania.
My view is that it all depends on whether COVID19 will affect the business process of the construction industry. there are several loopholes including labour hours and wages. For labour intensive construction, this could be detrimental. let us hope for the best
Project duration is being affected here in Zambia. A number of companies have had to lay off some of their staff temporarily or permanently due to social distancing and self-isolation rules. Less workers on site means less work done daily. Over time projects will take longer to be completed.
Company funds are also being affected because with less production, progress slows down and IPC’s get delayed. The few workers on site need to get paid aswell as those workers that are being laid off or put on temporary leave that have to be paid their basic salaries. Cashflow takes abit of a blow.
I am of the view that COVID-19 would affect the supply chain of construction materials which might have serious impact on construction projects due to delays. Another impact again could be loss of jobs. Many companies are now looking for ways to cut their running costs and embrace working remotely.
The psychosocial well-being of construction workers will be the most adversely affected in my opinion. Particularly, construction workers social aspects, job prospects and job characteristics psychosocial issues.
