Countersatining on glycerol-mounted tissue?

Hi! I'm doing ISH on paraffin-embedded tissue. I used methyl green as counterstaining but the staining wasn't really good, unfortunately, I realized that after mounting my tissues in glycerol jelly. Does anyone know if I can melt the jelly and do another counterstaining in the same tissue?
