I am a student researching innovation. Through literature review, I have found that many innovation metrics are constructed based on patents, such as analyzing patent novelty and quality using IPC classification codes or patent citation analysis, and constructing corporate networks using joint patent applications. However, the specific analytical methods vary across different papers. Could you please recommend some manuals or guides on how to use patents to generate innovation metrics or examples of how to construct social networks using patents?
