Hi!
I know that both CB1R and eCB (2-AG and AEA) levels change in L4 & 5 DRGs. And now I am looking to see if there are corresponding receptor level changes in different brain areas.
Could you please point me towards papers that explore CB1R changes in the brain in different pain states.

The paper that just came out in Nature Neuroscience entitled "A neuronal circuit for activating descending modulation of neuropathic pain" has interesting data of CB1 expression/function within the mPFC in terms of descending pain regulation in the SNI model.

We found increased CB1 receptor levels (ELISA and single recognition PLA) at the superficial lumbar spinal cord in a mice model and human tissue with chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). Also, we found increased levels of CB1R at the BLA in CIPN. Please find attached.
