Dear scientific community, Dear colleagues, Dear all. I have been contacted by many friends and family members from the Gaza Strip looking for any home-based solutions to improve the quality of the (little) available water in their households. The water that is still provided is highly saline (NaCl due to sea water intrusion), with high nitrate and microbial loads (due to sewage water infiltration). This is the only water available for hundreds of thousands among them. The UNRWA declared having no more fuel to supply the local small scale desalination plants and the population is left with this unique poor quality water for all life purposes. I adress this message to all the colleagues, friends, experts in all fields to provide, based on their areas of expertise, any solutions suggestions to help people, among whome hundreds of thousands of children, survive this catastrophic situation. All my gratitude to all of you in advance.
