I have data for E. coli K-12 BW25113 up to specific growth rate 0.8 h-1, but I would need acetate secretion rates or acetate yields on glucose or biomass at faster growth for modeling purposes. Probably, a suitable data set would be E. coli wild-type batch growth in different rich (ideally defined) media.
Hola Kaspar, as far as I know acetic acid is an incomplete oxidation product when E.coli grows at high(more than 1g/l) sugar concentration, as ethanol is aerobically produced in Sacharomyces in the same conditions of sugar high concentration (glucose, sacharose). I think that growing your strain in different amounts of glucose from 1-20g/l, for example , will give you the clue for the best acetic acid production. One more aspect is that as the acetic acid increases the growth rate will be diminishing until the stop or lysis of the culture. Good luck

You wouldn't achieve what I want-different specific growth rates-with varying the glucose concentration since in the so-called "balanced growth phase" of batch, the specific growth rate will be the same (of course, below inhibitory glucose concentrations).
There are several studies where specific growth rate of E. coli in batch have been manipulated with varying different media, however, I have not been able to find acetate secretion data for these experiments.
