I am interested in researching this further and would be interested in case studies using this methodology.

I am using AI formatting for some of the questions in my strength based research. Cooperrider has several articles that you can refer to. I assume you have been all over the AI Commons - there is a list of cases there:

Also there are several texts which may support your work - Hammond's Little Thin Book of AI, or Cooperrider's AI: A Positive Revolution in Change.
Dr. Cooperrider immediately agreed to let me use his AI figure in my study, attributed. He is quite approachable if you require additional advice.

Hi Sue - I should have mentioned Watkins, & Mohr's (2001) 'Appreciative inquiry' as well. This primer is packed with case studies and we used it in my MBA courses. Since then I picked up Orem, Binkert, & Clancy's (2007) 'Appreciative coaching', which has excellent question suggestions.
I will recommend a small but very interesting book for practitioners:
Appreciative Inquiry: Practitioners' Guide for Generative Change and Development
