I am working on a array structure to generate OAM beams. But to confirm whether my design ok or not, I first need to check the phase distribution of the antenna on CST.
You can plot the phase of the E or H field across a plane using "fields on a plane" in 2D 3D plot, if you had the field monitors selected. There is a button to display phase.
Malcolm White Yes I have tried on the field monitor but did not get the results. Could you please share your email address with me here or in the inbox so that we could discuss more on this matter?
Did you set the field monitor before you did the run? You can't get results by setting it afterwards. It should give you the electric field in all the calculation domain. Then you right click on one of the E-field options - phase doesn't work for tangential or abs but does work for x, y z and normal - and choose fields on plane, then click on phase at the top.
You should be able to contact me direct through researchgate.
Malcolm White Ok let me run the simulation again. I was not aware with this function of CST before hence I did not know that I had to set the field monitor at first. Let me try it again and get back to you. I will send you message through researchgate regarding the latest update. Really appreciate it.
Look at the boxes carefully. The ones you can fill in are not the size or position of the box, but how far in from the edges the sub-volume is. You may have been accidentally asking for a subvolume outside the solution space.
If your model goes from -20 to +20 the box by -20 has a - sign in front of it so you need to put a - sign in the box if you want the edge of the subvolume to be inside your model -20 - (-10) is --10.
Changing the size of ports is similarly confusing!
You can only monitor inside the region you modelled. I think this may include the extra that is added to the boundaries. You can't monitor anywhere outside this.
If you have Zmin -12 the next box has - in front of it and if you put 8 in that box it will try to monitor down to -20, which is probably outside the region you modelled.
After choosing the E field at the resonant frequency, I have gone to the phase option but it shows the message "the phase plot is not available for the selected component".
