Actually, in Nano structured organic solar cell the nano structured one is its active layer of organic semiconductor. I would like to get the answer related to the importance of nano structured organic semiconductors in organic solar cell.
A nanostructured blend commonly called a bulk heterojunction morphology is needed to efficiently dissociate the excitons that are created following photon absorption. The necessary length scales of this bulk heterojunction morphology are directly related to the exciton diffusion length in the given material. For most organic semiconductors the exciton diffusion length is on the order of 10 nm, and as a result optimized morphologies typically contains nanoscale domains on this same length scale (10-20nm).
