Some times ago I found some small information about alternative architectures of CPUs. The main idea is that every data cell is not just storage but it is a composition of storage and simple operations. For example when we write value x to cell with value y then x & y will be stored in this cell. Unfortunately I have no articles and relevant keywords for this topic.

Could anybody provide links or other information about research of this topic?
