I have submitted a manuscript to the certain journal lately, and get the "transfer suggested" status after 5-days submission. Basically, they rejected my manuscript and ask me to submit it to the other 3 suggested journals. However, I am wondering the possibility to get accepted if I agree to accept this "transfer suggested" offer?
Dear Samuel Herianto, don't be too disappointed about the rejection of your manuscript. This can happen at every stage of your scientific career. If the Editor suggests transfer of the manuscript to another journal, this means that you can resubmit the paper to a journal with a somewhat lower impact factor without major revision. Often the suggested journals are Open Access journals of the same publishers. Normally, if you accept the transfer, chances are significantly higher that your manuscript gets accepted. Good luck!
It's a desk reject which is very common. Accepting or declining it has no effect on this manuscript's journey to a publication. It is just a polite way of saying 'no.' Just be careful, there have been cases when the editor recommends an open access predatory journal that charges a publication fee - these are (usually) junk and stay away of them. I would simply ignore the request and pick another most suitable journal for this paper - considering its quality and fit.
Hai, to start with, its just another way of rejecting the paper. But there is no guarantee that your paper will be accepted upon the transfer. But if I am right out of the 3 suggested journals at least one open access journal will be there, where they ask for lot of money. So be wise and proceed.

Hi Deviram Garlapati, I think it is worth considering Open Acces journals if they are published by established publishers. Our University recently decided to pay the money for papers which are published in purely Open Access journals. Check out for example MDPI (https://www.mdpi.com) who publishes a large number of peer-reviewed Open Access journals.
Prof @ Frank T. Edelmann, Iam not against to open access but I feel the publication costs involved are high...infact we got one paper recently from Mdpi.
Hi Deviram Garlapati, yes, I agree that the publication costs are very high, if not too high. Occasionally MDPI sends out invitations to special issues, where the authors are waived all or part of the publication fees. You should also check out if your institution pays the fees under certain conditions.
Dear Alexander Serenko, I do not fully agree. You are definitively right in that this is a polite was of rejecting a paper. However, Editors of reputable journals will not suggest predatory Open Access journals as alternatives. Good Publishers now have a range of good Open Access journals which already have reasonable impact factors. In our field of research (chemistry) I could name e.g. ChemistryOpen (Wiley) or ACS Omega (American Chemical Society).

I totally agree with Dr. Frank T. Edelmann points. So, if the Editor suggests transfer of the manuscript to another journal, this means that you may resubmit your paper to that journal without major revision and it is highly possibly to get accepted.

It is common advise by editor, for transfer to another journal, it indicates that your paper is more suitable for the journal and more chance of acceptance.
It is just a desk rejection... very commn indeed. Be careful for the recommended journals in terms of impact or fees.. stay positive and enjoy this journey.
The first journal offering the "transfer" has IF= 7, and gave me 3 suggested journals with IF = around 5-6. All these journals are open access journals and have the same publishers (Elsevier) with the first journal. Thus, we have accepted the offer, and we directly passed the "editor desk" only in 1 day. Now, it has been in under-review process for 10 days. Hope everything goes well.

I don't think there is any difference between the quality of the journals with JIF ranging from 5 to 7, it goes up and down every year. With this new information (that these are reputable journals), this was not about the quality of your paper, it was about the fit and possibly the acceptance rate, so you made a right decision. I fully agree with Alexander Serenko in that there is no BIG difference between journals with impact factors in the range of 5 to 7. After all, accepting the transfer was the right decision.
You should decide which Journal has the best profile corresponding to your paper. You should have the possibility to change your rapid decision. Write your decission to the Editor.
Hi Samuel Herianto, in the end, accepting the transfer to a journal from the same publisher could save you a lot of time.
