Aesthetics is a strong trend in cultural studies, but cultural studies as a whole are being rejected as a genuine, homogeneous science. Could the separation of the "aesthetic part" of the field offer an approach to produce a more solid scientific design?

well, I did not want to irritate your fine epistemologic understanding ... I am more practically oriented: In the course of knowledge depelopment regularly new disciplines emerge by concentration on specific topics. So did the natural sciences, the social sciences, the art sciences. I - being an academic librarian - recognized such a concentration on multiple-arts aethetics (keywords: aethetical practices, aestetical forms, aesthetical reception, arts performance, visual studies, auditive studies and so on). Thus the question: is it already reasonable to put these topics near together in scientific and librarian classifications? With e.g. the outcome of a book arrangement in the library shelves that consistently follows aethetical and cultural criteria. In combination of general arts and cultural science: a discipline of culture-aethetical studies (the exact wording is still under construction, and to get help for this is just one aim of my question).
