Uğur Şahin, the CEO of BioNTech, the German biotechnology company behind the first Covid 19 vaccine, was asked at a press briefing when he believed the world might be able to return to normal, following the roll out of vaccine programs.
Şahin said:
We need a new definition of ‘normal’. The virus will stay with us for the next 10 years. We need to get used to the fact there’ll be more outbreaks.
Pessimistic variant: to die from the Corona virus .
Optimistic variant: to live with the Corona virus .
The virus will remain with us but hopefully we will develop our immune system so that it may not harm us.
I hope infectivity and most importantly mortality (case fatality) falls. But the virus will stay; maybe forever also
It is highly probable that the SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus will remain for many years, it will mutate, create new variants, etc. However, how long the SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) pandemic will last depends on the human being, the effectiveness of the instruments and systems for managing pandemic risk, and the effectiveness of the Coronavirus vaccines being developed, and the speed of vaccination programs for citizens.

The survival and persistence of the Corona virus depends on the possibilities of discovering an effective vaccine to treat it, so I am certain that the existence of the Corona virus will reduce its existence
Yes the virus may persist for a good number of years, but to predict how long it will stay, is a different kettle of fish. Social habits bring about a number of health issues. Who knows what social habits may sustain the virus the our population and for how long? No one can play God. We know in part and this is the part that we are permitted to know. The secret things belong to God. So says the Holy book.
